Tinted or plate glass – it is glass that has a proper film. In the production plate glass is applied to the thin silver film, colored glass is made by either the film or by adding a colorant to the batch.
Nowadays tinted glass (with a slight tinge of brown, green, etc.), color (with color saturation) and plate glass become very popular.
Annealed glass can be tinted by any period of time – even after a year. For tinting glass is heated again to 600-700 degrees and then it is sprayed with solution of special salt that forms a film. On the glass surface form thin transparent film (up to 1 micron thick) as a result of chemical reactions, consisting of metal oxides. This film may be conductive, radio protective, heat-absorbing, heat reflecting, absorbing UV rays, plate, sun – from ferrous oxide, decorative, etc.
There are films that have at once several features, and the film can be applied at once after manufacturing of glass and then send it to the annealing.
On the one hand, tinted and plate glass, which is used in construction, gives the building respectability and solidity. And on the other hand plate glass conceals the inner of house, protecting your privacy. With these glasses you can be not afraid of the views of idlers and curious neighbors who try to take a closer look what’s going on in your house. The effect of such glass is wonderful: nobody will see you, but you can see everything that happens on the street.
In the business psychology there is such a postulate: the external prosperity and prestigiousness reflect on your financial affairs to the best. Glass is a «fabric» from which «suit» for building is “sewn». The facade of the bank, office, hotel, decorated with tinted windows, creates an image of safety, wellbeing and prosperity. Tinted and colored glass, used to make glass doors and partitions inside the premises, give the interior an easy intimacy and eccentricity, leaving scope for the imagination of designers.
